Hi,
I'm building an entry/mid range gaming rig for my friend who can't really afford to go over $700. He has no PC building experience so he obviously asked me. He told me he wanted something that he would be able to upgrade down the road so I attempted to put together a Haswell 'budget' build. He wants to primarily play Skyrim with a lot of mods at 1080p and do some work related stuff as well.
I got this build priced at $725 right now, but there's $50 in mail-in rebates (meh) and I found the same i5 listed at my local Microcenter for $40 less, so this build is closer to the $600 side technically.
I've built aound 10 gaming PCs for myself and friends already, but I built this list pretty quick and didn't take a deep look into each component. I just wanted a few more sets of eyes to look this over to make sure there's no compatibility issues like the motherboard fitting into the case, or RAM incompatibility, or any missing connectors with the power supply for Haswell, etc.
The only thing I can think of is I will need to add a copy of Windows and he will probably need to buy 2 more 120mm fans for the case.
update: okay I put together a pcpartpicker list: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1lLzF
Do Haswell chips not come with the usual crappy stock HSF?
