my old games not working properly

i have a bunch of games that i was playing but i had to replace my old system it is a 64 bit windows 7 professional.the games are as follows total annihilation and core contingency,war craft 3 and company of heroes they don't work properly.war craft 3 and company of heroes the pointer is missing and I have no idea of knowing the pointer is . in total annihilation can't load the expansion just keep getting error when trying to start the loading i have a few others but have given up in running them can you help it is a pain .

Bummer. You may also need a version of a couple other things, it's been too long since I fixed it so I could run WC3 and I can't remember the exact things I did. There was more than one thing I had to get from windows to make this work. Perhaps if you posted the exact error message you get when trying to run WC3?
Other older games simply will not run under Win7 no matter what you do, depending on how old they are. Perhaps asking in each game's own forum for title specific help will yield better results.

One common thing older games need with Win7 is Dx9. Which is not installed by default.
Got to windows site and get the DX9 runtime installer, and run it.
I had to do that to run WC3, which now runs just fine for me on Win7.

I'll give it a go I'm sure i have DX9 .

i tried it today no luck error unable to run DX9 i reloaded DX9 still no go
