I have a Gigabyte FXA 990 UD3 motherboard with the AMD FX-8320 8-core processor.

Currently the BIOS version I have is "FA" which I'm not sure what it means or if it is the most recent BIOS version.
I've been trying to update my BIOS but it says it cannot 'read' my file. I also attempted to do it through the @BIOS program but still no luck. This is my first computer build, and I'm still learning. Any advice?

Solution
The first thing to check when receiving BSODs is your RAM. Run Memtest on each stick individually for at least 1 full pass.

Bios updates are put on the manufacturers website to address problems with newer hardware.
If the system runs fine with current BIOS why bother updating?
There is a greater chance of messing up your motherboard and that would mean you have to buy a new one as warranty probably would not cover you.
Does the system run fine?
Then I would leave it alone.
