I want to try and upgrade my Computer for gaming. My current graphics card... sucks.

I have a AMD Athlon(tm) II x2 250u Processor 1.60 Ghz, 4 GB of RAM, a 64-bit operation system, and NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430 graphics card.

Any suggestions on what graphics card my computer could handle or I could afford with a $150 dollar budget?

your best choice at that budget is GTX 650 ti Boost for 109$

, or a HD 7870 ghz edition but at 166$...

open the case.. look for any stickers on the power supply unit... and you will have to look on the motherboard for what type of chipset it is.... try not to touch boards directly especially if you dont have an anti static bracelet then make sure to keep one hand on the metal of the case just as a precaution

Your power supply is 300 Watts .

and according to this :

http://www.walmart.com/ip/eMachines-750-GB-ET1331G-05w/13352323

however , your cpu is Athlon 2 X2 250u , 1.6G dual core , it draws Just 25 watts and is a weak CPU.

tell me If it is the same CPU or not (could be another coz the mobo takes other cpu ) - check which CPU

assuming it is the same cpu ,

you can do the following :

1- Get this card for 69$ after rebate and 10% discount (dont forget to enter the code ) :

MSI N650-MD1GD5/OC GeForce GTX 650 1GB 128-bit GDDR5

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127703&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

it will run fine in your PC and cheap .

2- Get a Power supply and a Better card like this :

MSI N650ti-1GD5/OC BE GeForce GTX 650 Ti BOOST 1GB 192-bit GDDR5

and 500 watts discounted power.

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost 1GB Video Card ($143.98 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: EVGA 500W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply ($24.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $168.97
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

3- Get a CPU upgrade for your mobo , I need to check if it is AM2 or AM3 for 50$ and get a GTX 650 ti (non boost) , and a power supply 25$

assuming it is AM2 and takes only 65 watts CPU , you can do this :

http://pcpartpicker.com/user/sna/saved/24Ve

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: AMD Athlon II X2 260 3.2GHz Dual-Core Processor ($58.98 @ SuperBiiz)
Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 650 Ti 1GB Video Card ($89.99 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: EVGA 500W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply ($24.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $173.96
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)
(Generated by PCPartPicker 2013-07-31 23:22 EDT-0400)

the GPU in this choice has 70$ games free

This will raise your CPU from 1.6GHZ to 3.2 GHZ , I can add better cpu if it is AM3 , or more cores AM2 if the mobo takes 95 watts CPU.

I need you to tell me the name and model of the motherboard.

I hope this helped .
