My laptop can only do so much rendering wise and lately it can barely keep up to the deadlines I have. (i'm an archtecture student) I mainly use revit/photoshop/sketchup/3dsmax. I can't afford a workstation card right now which is why the geforce is there in place. I have a 1500$ budget.

I've talked to several friends whom I know build pc's and they came up with this build. Some have suggested to change the mobo and lite-on writer as well as the western digital drive to a seagate.

It'll be my first build. Thanks for any advice.

It's a nice build.
Looking at the processor and motherboard, I can assume you're not overclocking?

-Removed hyper 212 evo since you're not overclocking.
-16gb of ram is typically enough. If it's not enough for you, you can always add more.
-I find plextor SSDs to be great and reliable.
-Better gpu. The Gigabyte one is cheaper, higher clocked and better cooling.
-Cheaper psu. The XFX psu is seasonic made, so it's still high quality.

I notice there's no case. Do you already have one?

I have the case settled out already. This budget is really just for the parts inside. Also, someone else had said I might need to go up to a 750 psu?

Professional applications don't support SLI either.

Say I were to overclock it or may want to in the future. Would that decrease the amount of time it'd take for a render to finish? What would you choose personally?
