building a new computer. purchased new MOBO ( Asus M5A97 Le r.20 ) , PSU, CPU, and ram. put everything together and used my disc drive and hard drive from my other computer.. hard drive has winxp already on it. when i start the computer it says new hardware found and asks me if i want to start normally or safe mofe or w.e so after some searching i realised i probably need to put the disc that came with the mobo in so it can boot from the disc and update the drivers (im guessing) so i changed the boot order so it boots from the dvd-drive. i put the disc in and i eventually get to a screen that says "Welcome to ASUS motherboard make disc for dos menu.. then gives the choice to choose between 1) AMD AHCI/RAID WinXP driver 2) FreeDOS command prompt.. i choose 1 and then it tells me "please insert your formatted floppy to A:\" i press a key to continue and it tells me "error reading from drive A: Dos Area: unknown command given to driver (A)bort , (I)gnore , (R)etry , (F)ail?" no matter what i press i cant get it to work.. can someone please tell me where i went wrong or what im missing.. can i not use a hard drive with an existing XP os? that wouldnt make sense though.... or would it... plz help,,
