we all know that this card is loud ... if you want not loud you should picked Zotak , Asus Or MSI or Gainward.

use the evga precision software to see how fast your fans are set at

you can also use it to adjust the fan speed

though pretty sure reviews i read only had it about 40db under load

which isnt really loud

MSI GTX 770 Twinfrozor runs at 29 dbA FULL LOAD ... and 24 dbA Idle ... the best cooler around

29db under load is very impressive

but since the op doesnt have that card its irrelevant anyway

i wouldnt have gone with the evga either--but it still shouldn't be severely loud if reviews are saying 40db on load

40db isnt excessively loud

Messing around with the fan speed to make it quieter is only going to make the card run at hotter temperatures, and with Turbo Boost 2.0, decrease its performance.

I think you are probably overestimating how quiet a video card should be. They can be heard and sometimes they can get sort of loud under normal circumstances. You may also be in a room with a warmer summer temperature, which is going to cause the fans to run faster and louder. The best thing to do is to make sure that your case is cleaned out and free of dust. Then consider upgrading your case fans or adding another to help cool the card.

Of course, I'm just assuming you don't have a defective fan on your card. If you could tell us how fast your fans are running when gaming, that would help. You can use Afterburner or PrecisionX to tell Fan % and RPMs.

the gpu fans run at about 50% when gaming and temps get to around 53 degrees Celsius

That's pretty much normal. Maybe the fans are not that loud? Or are they REALLY loud?
