With my standard setup, when I wake my PC, it can take half a minute for the network connection to come up. If I connect directly to my cable modem connection time drops to about 5 seconds. My question is, is there anything else I can try to speed up my reconnection time with my router, or is it time for a new router? I already use reserved IP addresses, and otherwise the router and its wireless throughput is fine.
Here's my setup: Home-brew PC w/ Asus Sabertooth x79 Mobo running Win 8 64, wired connection to a Trendnet TEW-639GR wireless router, wired connection to a Arris TMB822 cable modem (Comcast). All drivers, firmware up to date, etc.
