So I've been looking around on forum and internet and what I've found does not particularly answer my question. So from what I understand most game utilize only 4 cores and not 8 cores. So my question would be if I upgrade from fx 4100 to fx 8350 how does that help me. From gaming experience, to everyday use, to VDO editing. Currently I get hiccup at times and my CPU is sometime at 80-99% when gaming. Would 8350 somewhat help solve that problem? Would I see an increase speed on my computer or fps gain in games? Anyone got experience first hand? Any comments would be appreciated. My current fx-4100 is at 4.0, when I get 8350 I am planning to OC it to 4.5~ with water cooling.

Solution
The 8350 will be futureproof. for gaming next gen games will utilize more cores and games Like BF4 will need at least 6. You will also be able to multi task a lot better with an FX8350. The performance will also be increased if you overclock.

However you could get the 8320 which is almost the same performance as the 8350. You could overclock it and get on par with the 8350 for a cheaper price.

The statement like this ' in foreseeable future games cannot utilize more than 4 cores so 8 cores is not relavent '
This type of statements are not really true
Games like crysis 3 utilizes even full 6 cores similarly bf4 and many upcoming games

Fx 8350 would b worth of an upgrade
