Hi all,

I was hoping someone could provide me with their opinion on my GPU temperature. I have recently bought an ASUS E2KM1I-Deluxe motherboard and have started to carry out some temperature checks whilst it is within my computer case. I am using HWMonitor to record temperatures and have confirmed the temperatures recorded via GPU Temp. At idle I am reading the GPU temperature (Radeon HD 7340) at around 60 degrees Celsius, however when playing blu-ray films it has been recorded by HWmonitor to reach 72-75 degrees Celsius. The CPU temperature stays below 54 degrees Celsius. My main concern is the GPU temperature. I also believe that as this is an APU processor the GPU and CPU are on the same chip?

My question is do you believe these temperatures (CPU-54, GPU-75) are safe or are they going to cause damage to the components over time.

Many thanks

Luke

Hi Sim,

Nice to hear someone else is attempting a NES build! I used a 150 watt pico PSU for the build, these are brilliant for small custom builds like this. There not cheap but function great considering thier small size, just don't overload them! Good luck, if you need anymore help let me know.

Luke

P.S Think about cooling, the ASUS E2KM1I-Deluxe does got hot, try an install some cooling fans or at least think about cooling options.

I would say that's a little on the warm side mine hovers around 50 degrees Celsius while idling but goes to 70 during heavy game play.
If it says like that over a long period of time it will die faster make sure you have airflow in and outside the case especially where there are fan slots. If they have good airflow like the air an easily move i would say that's a problem. Hope i helped.

Hi, thanks for the quick replies. The room temperature is usually around 25 degrees Celsius. The case is a custom build and so i am limited to where i can put case fans. Thanks both for your opinion. : )

Hi, well i say its a custom build. Its a NES conversion i've been on for the last 12 months or so, i intend to post some pictures when i've finished. I think this temperature issue is hopefully the last hurdle! Thanks all for your help.

Hi, I am doing the same NES conversion with the same motherboard, what power supply did you use? I have trouble to find a power supply so small to stay in the case of the NES
