I was looking into making a budget build computer for gaming that I could later upgrade. I heard APU's require a bit more RAM so I was wondering - why do they require more RAM and how much should I get?

The APU I was looking to get is the AMD A8-5600K Trinity

They don't require more RAM necessarily but they can make use of the fastest RAM you can afford unlike a traditional CPU. I would go with 8GB of DDR3 2133.

They don't require more ram so much as faster ram. I would suggest getting an 2x4 8g kit around 1866. That should give you the best apu and system performance for the price.

THE APU NEEDS A FASTER RAM RATHER THAN MORE RAM

The best u can do is get an a85x chip and a 8gb 2133mhz or higher clocked ram
as it would b required by the integrated gpu which would be better if u get more clocked speeds

+1, there was even a kit of 8 GB (2x4GB) DDR3-2400MHz on sale for $63
