AMD APU Memory

Would it be possible for AMD to come out with GDDR5 ram sticks for their APU's. Or if it's not possible, why not have a seperate memory chennel/slot for the graphics.

No amd has no chance to bring gddr5 on board
    Haswell-e would bring ddr4

THE APU NEEDS A FASTER RAM RATHER THAN MORE RAM

The best u can do is get a 8gb(2x4gb) 2133mhz or higher clocked ram
as it would b required by the integrated gpu which would be better if u get more clocked speeds

    Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws Z Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-2400 Memory ($79.99 @ Newegg)
  2. There were rumors of Kaveri possibly offering on board GDDR5 memory...though, I am not sure that it will actually happen at this point.
  3. Would their be any benifets to at least the graphics having it's own memory channel
  4. Integrated graphics like in the apu never have their own ram they always share from rams

For best performance u need to have dicreet graphics card which has seperate ram

Haswell-EP is supposed to bring DDR4 support. GDDR4 and GDDR5 are based off of DDR3.

The Xbox 360 used a 512MiB block of GDDR3 (based off of DDR2) unified for both the IBM CPU and ATI GPU.

The PS4 uses an AMD APU along with 8GiB of unified GDDR5. It's not a matter of whether or not it is possible for AMD to do it because they have already done so. The reason that they have not introduced it to their desktop lineups is because there's no commercially available DIMMs with GDDR on them.

Not really...not with the way they're implementing HSA and HUMA and all these other features designed for the CPU and GPU on the die to use the same memory addresses.
