sys is vista home premium 32 bit SP2
HP PC model 8200n.

weeks of BSOD's (various error messages). have gone the update driver route; all are current; have disabled uneccessary programs; run multi anti-virus; and probably other things i have forgotten. still crashes.

HP says BIOS upgrade available; and will correct known issues w/ ram and other issues

I have tried to upgrade BIOS (from HP) w/their download,SP37530.exe

it says "system does not meet mimimum requirements (9996) and halts the process.

the HP site says this BIOS upgrade is necessary for MOBO performance issues.

Any help on the upgrade issue is appreciated. I am convinced now that this will solve the BSOD's

have tried many cures. now i am zeroed in on upgrading the BIOS per HP website

thanks in advance

When I look up your model number (8200n) at the HP website, nothing comes up. There are several "8200" models that do come up, however.

Verify your actual model number and then verify that you have the proper BIOS upgrade for your specific model.

Good luck!
