I know I know these threads you more experienced guys are probably really tired of and I have google'd " Max Safe CPU socket temperatures and read the whole first page of results and am not satisfied with what I've read so here's another one for the books asking the question of what is the highest temperature I should be worried about for the CPU socket? I circled what I mean in this picture:

There are the core temperatures which I've heard you should keep below 72c for a long life term ( I've had the cpu for 2 1/2 years now and highest I've ever seen core temps get were 68c ) then there's what I'm asking about what I circled.

Last thing I'm adding is that the Max temps seen were after playing a mission on Warframe on High at 1600*900, nothing spectacular but if you were going to ask...And that the highest I've seen the CPU option I've circled get to was 50c.

Solution
All of your temperatures are safe operational temperatures. CPU temperature way under the TJ Max, as for the socket temp dont worry that is fine, start becoming concerned when you hit 70 Degrees.

Hey, sorry to tell you I am having a bit of difficulty understanding your english, but.. here is my two cents on this issue, if I understand it correctly.

1. You should be testing cpu temp using programs that stress CPU performance specifically, like prime95 or intel burn test. Once these tests run for 10~20min or so, it becomes more of airflow issue then cpu overheating issue, so you can test with your side panel off, then test again with it on. You want to test the GPU temp using high demanding game or gaming benchmark. The purpose of these are different, as you can see.

2. I think CPU temp is more of external temp on mobo sensor near the cpu, and Core temp is the temp read from the sensor "inside" the cpu die, near the core. This should explain why cpu core is MUCH higher, and the core temp is what you should be using to determine cpu thermals. My personal rule for Sandy Bridge and onward is 75C max for any core running prime95 for 30min. During real world use, the cpu will NEVER rose over that max temp I would calculate (with right cooling in place).
