i am building a small server for my in-laws for a small business office. i have some corsair vengeance ram, intel xeon processor E3-1275 v3 with a asus P9D-X MOBO. first board that came all i got is 4 short beeps when powered on. trouble shooting until i had it rigged on a box outside the case with only 1 stick of ram and processor plugged in. still got the 4 beeps, which means according to the ASUS tech i spoke to said its a internal clock problem. tried everything with cmos clearing etc.. nothing worked. so i RMA'd the board. new one comes today same thing, 4 beeps. i am stumped. last thing i can think of is the processor is damaged, just not sure if a damaged processor will cause the 4 short beep error code. i need any help guys. sound like a bad processor? it is brand new. i am lost. i have built many many systems and never had a issue i couldn't solve.
oh ram works fine. tested them in my rig. works just fine. bios is current.
