Hello, I just got my pc from the shop and I tested my FPS on bf3 and it was lower than my old pc, downloaded GPU Z to see my graphic card and it says Intel HD Graphics 4600? Why is it not saying GTX 780? Did I plug something wrong? or is it the shop's fault?

here are the main parts incase u wanted to know:

processor: i7-4770k
motherboard: Z87X-UDRh
gpu: GTX 780

sorry for the stupid question, its my first pc.

More about : intel graphics 4600 gtx 780

Guess you plugged your monitor into the motherboard instead of the GPU. Double check wires.

My monitor is an old garbage 18 inches which I will replace soon, it has only a VGA cable, and there is only one VGA slot in the case (corsair 800D), so if its not that slot does this mean that I have to get a different cable?

You need to check what outputs your gtx 780 has on the back. If there is no VGA, then get an adapter for DVI to VGA, or whichever one that your graphics card has. That should be a relatively cheap fix as opposed to getting an entirely new cable. If your monitor has a dvi input and you want to spend money and buy a new cable, feel free to. Good Luck!

I see, thanks a lot!

Btw, when I get a new monitor I should just use an HDMI cable only right?

I don't think there is even a 780 that doesn't come with a dvi to vga adapter. Use the adapter.

If the new monitor is just 1080p, then dvi, hdmi, and dp will all be the same. Vga is the only one to not use.

And please for the love of good, don't spend $70 on a monster DVI/HDMI cable. It's a digital signal, all cables must meet a minimum standard. Either you get a picture, or you don't. Don't waste money on expensive cables.

Also as k1114 said you should have gotten a DVI -> VGA adapter.
