i have an aoc 22' 1080 monitor and i was able to change the refresh rate from 60hz to 75hz.my question is will this affect the life of my monitor.and to anyone else that has done this, do you notice any real difference in performance for example do you notice the extra 15 frames.i play bf3 on custom settings (most things on low except mesh which is on ultra ) so i generally achieve an average of 75 frames with my gtx 560.i do notice the extra frames i just wanted to hear you guys opinion

Solution
It won't wear out your monitor as it's designed to do that.

In BF3 you're better off increasing the quality at 60FPS rather than dropping it a little to get a solid 75FPS.

I've carefully tweaked BF3 to get the best quality and also maintain 60FPS 90% of the time and I still had to turn down a few settings so I know you aren't running at max quality as I have a GTX680 OC, i7-3770K @4.2GHz and 16GB DDR3 2133MHz.

Higher frame rates are generally smoother, but again 60FPS should be smooth enough and the extra quality is preferred.

*Turn off "deferred AA" as it makes things muddy, especially dark areas.

**Use FRAPS to monitor frame rate and carefully tweak your various settings to achieve 60FPS most of the time.
