I recently began building gaming PC's and decided to help my friend build one. Everything was going fine until the hdd part. I have checked my wires a million times and its all correct (at least from what I can tell) but it's just not working. In BIOS I'm it seems as if it's showing up but when I try to install Windows 7 onto it, it'll show my HDD but with no space at all. So it won't allow me to install W7 since it requires X amount of space. I've tried installing the HDD into my own PC and it doesn't show up on Disk Management. I tried opening CMD and partitioning/formatting it through that but when I try to an I/O error. I've tried to boot Ubuntu onto my friends PC but it won't boot through USB. I can feel/hear the HDD turning on when I boot the PC but other than that, nothing. I'm at a lost of words and am completely stumped at this problem. I don't know if it's DOA or I'm missing something...please help!

Oof! I'm such a noob... :pfff:
Will be returning as soon as possible. Just grabbed my buddies old Seagate 2tb and now it is working. I have much to learn obviously.
