Okay so here is the situation. I have a low-mid end gaming PC in my living room with an Alienware monitor and a GTX 560 which is currently connected through DVI. The next room over is my bedroom with an Asus monitor that I would like to connect to. It should be noted that I don't ever intend on running both displays at once I just want to "switch" between displays in my bedroom and living room whenever I want. However here is my issue:

The GTX 560 has 2 DVI and a mini HDMI port. The NVidia box came with a mini HDMI to HDMI adapter which is currently in use to connect the monitor in my bedroom. However my Asus monitor in my bedroom only has one of each of HDMI Displayport and DVI and VGA. The HDMI on the asus monitor is being occupied by an xbox and I don't feel like switching between cables every time I want the PC display or the Xbox display. So my solution is this:

Mini HDMI>Mini HDMI to HDMI adapter>HDMI cable>to 3 (in) in 1 (out) HDMI Switchboard> HDMI port on my Asus monitor.

Switchboard: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0090QJ9V6/ref=ox_sc_a...

2 Questions:

Will this setup work and if so will it carry audio too?

Will this sacrifice quality of HDMI source to a significant degree because of the amount of signal transfers?

I'm sorry this post is so long and confusing but I hope I did a good job explaining the scenario. please I need help and I don't want to waste money... perhaps there is an easier solution?

End Result/Goal: To be able to switch between displays coming from one computer without sacrificing quality and maintain my xbox connection so the only work I have to do is press a button on the switchboard.

Thank you for the prompt response. U sure I will still get audio? Also it wouldn't do anything bad if I added on an HDMI connection from a laptop into the switchboard making a total of 3 connections right? I know that this is a stupid question I just get paranoid about this stuff lol

Says it right on the item specs

Video support: 1080p FullHD, 1080i/720p, with 12-bit deep colour, retaining crispy clear images;
Audio support: DTS/DTS-HD, Dolby Digital / Dolby TrueHD, and Linear PCM (LPCM);

So long as the source provides audio the switch will pass the audio.

hdmi stuff generally works or it doesn't so there shouldn't be any line issues like you might see with coax.
