Basically, I'm starting to get into virtual machine ware and I will be virtualizing various operating systems for work.

What I'm asking is if my current system will be enough for it.

i5 3570k @ 4.0ghz
16gb 1600mhz
hd 6870
p8z77-vpro
120gb Intel 520 SSD
250gb Samsung 840 SSD
1 TB HDD
Corsair HX 750.
Windows 8.1 Pro Preview.

yes you should be ok to run virtual pc's at the same time. i used to use my old Q9650 + 8GB memory to run up 3 or 4 Virtual Computers in VMware or VirtualBox at the same time.

I'd go with an i7 as the Hyper-threading will give an advantage in performance in VMWare vs an i5. Both the i5 and the i7 should come with Intel Virtualization Technology, which is designed for VM users to help increase performance etc. in virtual machines.
