My HX1050 Gold is crackling, even with the computer off, although it's much quieter then. If I move it to one room it stops, but in another room it keeps going.

Everything I see says RMA the PSU at the drop of a hat, but they also all say that they crackled regardless of where they plug it in.

I'm not an electrical engineer by any means, but it could be EM interference among other things. Wear on the PSU, probably not. It could be one of the components buzzing because of the way the PSU works. You can RMA it if you really feel like it, but unless it's really bothering you or starts causing issues you shouldn't worry about it.

There might be some EM interference in some rooms of your house causing the crackling noise. If it was the PSU, it would do it in every room.

Is it an issue like this? Is crackling an issue when induced? Or will it cause wear on the PSU? Or am I just being overly paranoid?
