I am upgrading my pc from Win XP to Win 7 OS and need to that whether it is 64-bit. compatible or not.

Here is my system:

1. AMD Athlon X2 BE 2300 Dual Core (1.91GHz)
2. RAM - 2 GB
3. AMD 690G Chipset
4. Samsung SyncMaster LCD monitor with 1440 x 900 resolution.

Yes, look at your CPU model, the hint is in the name (64)

But what Thanatos Telos said, there is no point as usually people with more than 4GB RAM use 64 bit Windows

However, if you do plan on upgrading your RAM, then go for 64 bit

Thanks! How much minimum Ram in required ? as I can extend it and what about Graphics ? Is GPU 64-bit compatible ? and lastly my monitor ??

32-Bit windows can use up to 4GB of RAM. So if you plan on installing more than that, then go with 64-Bit

GPU and Monitor have no effect on the operating system, the only determining factor is your CPU.

Thanks BuddiLuva ! I will surely extend my RAM upto 6 GB. One more thing that is confusing me about my CPU as it is not showing 64 in Specifications, in case it is 'AMD Athlon X2 BE 2300 Dual Core (1.91GHz)' then still it will support 64 bit or not ?
