I was wondering if anyone could tell me if all these parts are compatible as well as if I am making a mistake in buying any of these parts

cpu: Intel Core i7-4770K Quad-Core Desktop Processor 3.5 GHZ 8 MB Cache
gpu:Sapphire Radeon HD 7970 OC with Boost 3GB DDR5
ram: Patriot Viper 3 Series Venom Red DDR3 8GB 1866MHz (PC3 15000)
mobo: Asus Z87 PRO LGA 1150 Motherboard
psu: Corsair Enthusiast Series TX 750 Watt ATX/EPS 80 PLUS Bronze (TX750)
case: CM Storm Scout 2 Advanced - Gaming Mid Tower Computer Case

i would appreciate any input!

Everything is good, but you might save some money in a few things.

-1866MHz memory offer very little gains in performance over 1600MHz. I usually not worth the additional cost.
-750W is an overkill for you system. 600W-650W is enough will a bit of headroom. If you want to Crossfire later, you will need at least a 850W PSU anyway.

Lord is close but it seems I disagree with everyone on this lately. A quality 500W is more then enough for your system, while 750 will handle CF just fine. I do agree about dropping down to 1600MHZ ram. I would also probably go with the 7950 unless the 7970 isn't much more. You might want to look into the GTX770 as well.
