Hi, guys I have recently upgraded my pc with new motherboard, cpu and ram. The motherboard is Asrock B75 Pro3-M http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/B75%20Pro3-M/. Also upgraded the realtek driver to the latest version but no sound from the motherboard or the chasis jacks. The motherboard has a header for Realtek HD Audio, not AC'97, so that's what I am using. There is a weird sound (like wind blowing) from the speakers when I connect them and no sound from the front panel either with the earphones. Is there something to do with the setting up?

Solution

check your front connection again , and the noise is normal thats a cheap motherboard ..

I have used cheaper motherboards than that before but didn't experience this. I also re-seated the front panel header but no result. What else I can do?

remove the front and see if the noise stays or not.

I tried that but still the same.
When I go to the sound options this is what I see:

It says no speaker has been plugged in. But I have plugged in perfectly working speakers as you can see in the below image. My speakers have only one 3.5mm jack and I plug in into the lime port but I have tried plugging in to different ports but it's the same.

The OS is Windows 7 64 bit.
