Fsx is a cpu intensive game not a gpu related game..here the i7 will have a steep victory over the i5.

the gurus saying that FSX does not take advange of H/T. So, what's the point of a "steep victory" of I7? The I7 8GB L3 cashe against 6GB L3 cashe of I5?

the i5 and i7 have the same clock for clock single core performance, fsx is only a single core game and prefers single core performance so overclocking has a larger impact.
hyper threading will not even be taken advantage of, no game takes advantage of hyper threading due to how it works and it can be detrimental under certain circumstances. it also only gives up to a 30% performance boost with the right programs.
