Hi
One of my computers at home crashed , i think the system failed but anyway i moved the hdd from my old computer to my other one running vista on it. I can access most of the files except the user files like X-pc i can access the administrator files when i try to enter the user folder something like You currently dont have the permission to access this folder And if i press continue it loads and at the end and pc freezes i tried a lot of things but none of them worked . I tried setting the ownership to my current pc with vista but every time i try the pc freezes and i have to unplug it . It freezes every time i try to do anything with that folder tried error checking and defrag but both freezed on me.

Thanks in advance.

I think that folder got badly corrupted thus the PC freezing. Try a data recovery software free and decent : http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/PhotoRec

Not free but good and your purpose will be served by the free trial : http://download.cnet.com/Zero-Assumption-Recovery/3000-...

Also you can search net and will get tons of free software. Good luck.
