I am looking to (finally) build an iCore system finally. I have been running two 650Ti Boost on a 680i/QX6800 for a few months and don't feel I am gettng good performance.

I am looking to build my next system with the next two month, just looking at parts, but this is what I am currently thinking about getting.

EVGA Z75 SLI LGA 1155 @ $169. (For SLI and PhysX)
Intel Core i5-2310 LGA 1155 @ $184 (I can OC)
(HAVE) 2 EVGA GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost 2GB, (Paid $179 each, $$360), now $169 each.
Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) @ $115 (maybe X2, for 32GB) @ $230.

For a total of $694 at 16GB ram (expandable) or $810 at 32GB Ram. Roughly, unless prices drop.

Why so much Ram, to run VMs in Windows 8 Pro, I might get it. I have Window 8, but cannot run VMs. Add, $139.

I have a new Antec 900Watt (Antec High Current Gamer Series HCG-900 900W), a replacement from Antec for a dead Antec TPQ 850.
I will move my ARCTIC Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2 or COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus to this build too.
I will be using a Coolmaster HAF 912 (have 2) or HAF 922 (just got it).

I will mostly like keep this system as is for the next 2 years. evga offers 3 years. So I am protected on parts for 3 years.

Any comments or opinions.

If you want to OC and want a haswell based system:
PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($234.99 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: ASRock Z87 Pro4 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($104.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport XT 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($109.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $449.97
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

Otherwise you can just go for a nice ivy bridge based system.

Since I looking at the motherboard, CPU, and Ram, the price is $583ish, so I would need to go below $583 and get better performance then the parts that I am looking at. So I am gonna review ps3hacker12's suggestion. Thanks.

what is difference between Z75 and Z87, since most are recommending it?? I would be more likely to get the SLI verision.

If you want SLI supporting motherboards, both of these are great too:
http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asrock-motherboard-z87extreme3
http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-motherboard-z87a

The z87 chipset was built for the newer Haswell based processors, whereas the Z75 chipset was build for ivy bridge.

The Z87 is more likely to support future processors, it also supports more USB 3 ports and Sata III ports as compared to the older Z75 chipset mobos.

This cooler too if you want to OC:

Why would you consider a CPU that expensive on such a limited budget?

The Z87 is more likely to support future processors, it also supports more USB 3 ports and Sata III ports as compared to the older Z75 chipset mobos.

Any motherboard using socket LGA 1150 will support future processors using that socket, it's not just limited to Z87.

This is what I would do:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($239.99 @ Newegg)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($34.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: ASRock Z87 Extreme4 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($149.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LP 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($125.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $532.96
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

Hey, thanks alot, I am getting some good advice. I think I am gonna work with the ASUS Z87-A, price is good, lower then eVGA, has SLI and a third for PhysX. I orginally picked the Intel Core i5-2310 LGA 1155 (@ $184) due to the speed and price, it is my understanding that my 650ti will run good with iCore @ 3.0 Ghz, being that the 2310 is @ 2.9ghz, but that was with 1150 socket, moving the Asus Z87, I would consider the 4430, (on sale for same price) or the 4570, for a few bucks more. Heatsink I have, I have two Cool master 212, spares for customer builds. So I think this might be it. Any other comments would be appreciated. I just remembered, I had purchased the upgrade of Windows 8 Pro for a customer and he decided he did not like Windows 8, cost me $70, saved me $70.

The 4430 will definitely be better than the 2310, but the 4670K would be the best for your budget.

All of our suggestions are overclockable systems, if you don't have any future plans to overclock you could save some money.

and yes a haswell i5 can support up to a 6990 or a gtx 590 with very little bottlenecking. So it can definetely support a 650Ti with no issues.

If your going for a non-overclockable processor, there isn't much point choosing a motherboard which features overclocking :)

I don't mind having the ability to OC, but any recommendation on a lower cost board, 1150 socket with SLI and extra PCI-E would be appreciated.

I really appreciate your help on this, I might be looking to buy today.

Just a thought, the newer boards run 3.0 usb, my older HAF 912 does not, I am not sure if the HAF 922 does. I might have to get a new case too.

You can just buy front USB hub panels for your cases, looking around it seems the ASUS Z87-A is the cheapest quality board that supports SLI. The K edition processors are the ones you can overclock but taht'll cost an extra $50 over the 4430 :/ so if your on a budget stick to what yoouve chosen here:

Thanks, I think I will go for it, I will have to charge and I as I sell my older components, I will pay it off. I looked at the HAF brackets, they take a Hard Drive 5.25 slot, I will not like the look, ( http://www.cmstore-usa.com/haf-912-usb-3-0-5-25-bracket-oem-package/ ) I think I will consider a case after I have tested all the parts, I may have to return a part.

The 5.25" slots are for optical drives, the 3.5" slots are for hard drives :) and 2.5" is for laptop hard drives.

I was under his 16GB price point until he changed it. And why not? He already has a beast of a graphics setup.
