currently i have an offer which is pretty cheap, my motherboard is g41mts2pt and it only supports 1333mhz ram speed. So is i install a 1600mhz ram in it, will something go wrong

Solution
Actually 1600 is the rated speed, if you want to run at 1333, it will yes, but best to tighten timings to match the freq you'll run at, if sticks are 1600 9-9-9-27 then at 1333 for best performance drop the timings a step to 8-8-8-26

Actually, he was just answering your question. ". . . will something go wrong?"

Answer, "No."

When ram is given a rating of 1600mhz, it means it has been tested designed to run at a MAXIUMUM of 1600mhz.

This is analogous to fans. A fan can be designed to run at 2200rpm,but it can run at lower speeds, such as 1600rpm.

Therefore, a 1600mhz can easily run at 1333mhz, since it is essentially, like a fan that is spinning slower then it can spin.

When you install your ram, you mobo will automatically clock the ram at 1333mhz, with no problems.
