Hi, I'm looking for a new processor and have decided on an i5 3570k. I'm planning on building a future proof gaming rig (3 years atleast) but i'll be upgrading my current rig over time (on a tight budget, 16 and unemployed), starting with the processor. Mostly because i've realised my PC can't handle CPU intensive games, such as GTA IV, BF3, Guild Wars 2 (in crowded areas) etc. My current specs:
Intel G840 @ 2.8Ghz
Radeon HD 7750
8GB Ram
Gigabyte H61M-S2PV Motherboard
1400x900 resolution
430W Corsair PSU
I know with my current motherboard i will not be able to overclock the 3570k, but ill be upgrading the mobo and PSU next (so i can overclock), and then lastly a graphics card (660 ti / 7870 - something along those lines, depends on how much they cost at the time so the setup is more balanced) and new monitor (most likely 1080p). For the time being though, will the 3570k run ok on my current setup? I'm relatively new to PC hardware so i thought i may ask some of the experts here!
