This rig is for playing games: World of Tanks, Tomb Raider, Dragon Age, Mass Effect series, Civ, etc. I don't generally do FPS's.

Current system is:

Processor : AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 B55 Processor (NOT overclocked)
Memory : 4096MB(Speed 1600)
Mother Board : M5A88-V EVO <<-- AM3+ capable Mobo
Windows Version : Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate Service Pack 1
Monitor : HP Compaq LA2405 Wide LCD Monitor (24")
Video Adapter : AMD Radeon HD 6870
Mouse : Microsoft USB IntelliMouse Optical
Keyboard : USB Input Device
Disk Drive : Hitachi HDS723020BLA642 ATA Device(1863GB, IDE)
Disk Drive : SAMSUNG SSD 830 Series ATA Device(59GB, IDE)
DVD/CD-ROM Drive : PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-216D ATA Device
Corsair 750W PSU

I can't run all games at max video settings, but I don't know if I'm CPU limited or Video card limited. I'm not a big overclocker, but I could give it a try :)

Should I:
1. Upgrade the processor to an FX-8320 (8350 doesn't seem like a good value)
2. Scrap the mobo and processor?
3. Just upgrade the video card?

I have about $300 bucks I can spend. Thanks!

Upgrade your cpu to FX6300 or FX8320 and upgrade RAM to at least 8GB first. You won't have enough budget to do this & upgrade to a gpu with enough performance increase, so save the rest of the budget to get at least GTX660 or HD7870 or higher later. You may also look into overclocking cpu and gpu to increase some performance while you wait for gpu upgrade.
