I have a Lacie External Hard Drive Model 301301U also says DD3US on bottom. It is the black brick style. The power supply died (I know Lacie is well known for this) and I have an external encloses that I want to move the drive to.

My question is: how do you take this thing apart? the enclosure is solid metal (no seams), and there are no screws in it (not even under the rubber feet.) Only the end are opened the front is a metal grill, and the back is a metal as well with the connectors and power switch. The only two screws hold the cooling fan in place.

If anyone has a hint on how to take that thing apart I would greatly appreciate it.

Just in case anyone else needs this information.

To disassemble there are 2 Phillips screws under the label on the bottom label "Warranty void if label broken" remove them then push the entire assemble on the front grill to remove from housing.

I'm surprised there are 500 GB Barracuda Seagate drives in the housing
