I'm thinking of getting a Nexus7...I wanted to hook up my 2TB portable drive but it won't pull enough power to use so I've been told to get a portable battery pack. I have an adaptor already. What kind of battery pack would work to power the drive..i.e brand, volt/amps etc...I can't find any info as to what power is pulled from my drive.

Please help.

My crystal ball is kindof cloulded up.
Your nexu7 has a micro USB port - but it didn't say if it was usb 2 or 3.
Portabe 2 TB HDD - Is this a 2.5" drive or a 3.5 in drive. does it have a Power in connector ???

1) Generally many portable 2.5 in HDD require more power than is provided by USB2 so a power adaptor s used. USB 2 ONLY provides 0.5 Amps @ 5 Volts (or max of 2.5 Watts). IF USB3 than the port should povide the required power

.. a 3.5" HDD requires =12Volts input and MUST be powered using a AC adaptor (or for portability a +12VDC battery pack).

What you may end up doing, if you whant a Battery system and drive is 2.5" is to
1) Buy a powered USB hub.
2) Chop of the pwer adaptor cable. Adapt the end (with the plug that...
