Good AMD cpu for gaming?

I have a shit AMD athlon 64x2 dual core processor not along with a Nividia GeForce GT 620 graphics card.

i Obviously need a cpu upgrade and i do not want to switch to Intel because i would need a new mother board and i just dont have the money right now. i have about 300$

anything to recommend?

i would like to be playing bf3 and similar games

my PC is in my signature, but my mobo is just an ASRock P67 EXTREME6 (B3).
most motherboards that you purchase as separate parts have RAID chips. I'm assuming that your PC is a retail PC, and not a custom build? (since those are the only PC's that you'll really find a GTX 620 in - the lowest current gen card you can get) Note that if this is the case, you may need a better PSU for a better GPU, but you should be fine w/ any compatible CPU. if you knew ur socket type, that would help.
