Internet cuts out

Hello, my internet has been giving me problems the past couple of weeks. When playing a game it will log me out or make my character rubber band back to where i was earlier and on Starcraft2 it will just cut out for a few seconds. When i Ping google using the CMD it will get replies for a little while and then just say "request timed out". Do you think you can help me? i started noticing these problems after the modem password was changed and after i moved my computer to a differnt room, but i am using a LAN cord now so there is no wireless issue here.

Hi,
Do a test on http://www.speedtest.net/
If all ok, you might want to download a large file to see if it cuts off.

look at you network card beside the time to see if something happens.
If your router is old, it might need to be changed.
What brand and model of the router?
Do you have the same problem with another computer ? Test it out with another computer if you can.

On speed test i got 26ms ping and download speed was 49.89 Mbps and upload speed was 4.22 Mbps. I think our router is a little over a year old and its a NETGEAR CG3000D
