SLI? Or newer graphics card?

I currently have a nvidea 550ti 1gb and was wondering if i should buy a new graphics card like a 760 or just go and buy a second hand 550ti on ebay for literally a quarter of the price and have them in sli and because the 760 is a 2gb card i would be getting 2gb out of both the 550ti's so would i get a similar performance?

I would expect a GTX760 to out-perform a SLI pair of GTX550Tis. It would also have a wider memory buss (256bit vs 128bit) which will make a further difference with high AA.

you would only get 1 gb, as vram doesnt stack. I think a 760 would yield very good performance and less heat/power consumption. I would go with that.

So what is the benefits of getting two graphics cards? Does it help when doing things like multiple monitors? Thanks for the advice il get a 760
