I am doing a PC build for the very first time. I am trying to get the best bang for my buck of course:pt1cable:. So far I have purchased a AMD FX-6300 Vishera 3.5GHz (4.1GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 95W Six-Core Desktop Processor which will be here tomorrow. Then I have decided to go with a ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0 AM3+ AMD 990FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS. SO now that leaves me with the job of finding a good GPU. Which is hopefully where your guy's expert opinions will come in handy. This is the one I have me eye on at the moment SAPPHIRE 100311-3L Radeon HD 6970 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Video Card. Please throw some idea's out at me around the same price point as this one that I have my eye on. Please expain why this is a good or bad choice and the same goes for your suggest picks for me as well. Thanks all opinions are welcome.

Please check out the Sapphire 7870 oc GHz edition 2gb DDR5. I personally have this GPU in one of my gaming rigs and it performs beautifully, and for 185.00 you cannot beat it. Also, there are tons of benchmarks online for this gpu so go check them out, this gpu rates high and I can personally attest to it.

See the only problem is when I click on that link its not 185.00. Its 224.99 with 15.00 off which brings it to 209.99 not the 185.00 that you are pricing it at. The 6970 which I speak of is currently 159.99 Big price gap there bub. Sorry its just to much of a stretch for me.

Hmm, it must have went back up. It was 184.99 yesterday. But anyway, if I had a choice between the 6970 and the 7870 for only 50 bucks, save your cash and get the 7870, not to mention check other websites, you will find one cheaper than 200.00 they are everywhere. It is a much better card than the 6970.

I saw the bench marks it is a better card overall. I don't really know about buying it off of Ebay though even though I am an Ebay fanatic. I would feel safer getting it from a reputable electronics website with a return policy and such. Thanks for the link. :)

I have bought from the seller I posted on Ebay. Very reputable and I have not had issues with that seller. Good Luck.~~ Suferbus :)
