Okay, this is going to be lengthy so I'm going to go ahead and thank you for reading this.

Okay, I built my own computer and had Windows 8 for quite sometime on it, worked fine for about two months. It messed up and gave me errors with the \windows\system32\config\(put anything that is in the system32 here) and I never really liked it anyways. So I go out and buy Windows 7 Home Premium and after formatting both of my HDD's and flashing my motherboard I tried to install Windows 7... To my disadvantage I still get the same errors, don't know how but I do. I would LOVE help and I don't want to carry it to somewhere like BestBuy because they'll charge a few hundred dollars to look at it.

Specs:
Case: HAF Cooler Master 932
RAM: Corsair Dominator 16 GB 4x4GB
PSU: Corsair CX750 750 Watt
Motherboard: ASUS M5A78L-M USB3
CPU: AMD Phenom II x4 952 Black Edition
1HDD: Western Digital Velicoraptor 250GB 10000 RPM (O.S INSTALLED ON HERE)
2HDD: Seagate 1TB 7200 RPM
Graphics Card: GTX 660Ti EVGA SC Edition (With Extra OC)

I am completely lost and I need help badly.

Thanks, Snowey

Do you think, maybe you could give me a link? I've heard Linux is a little complex, thanks!

Link was there in the comment

Yes, Linux is potentially more complex than Windows, but we're just doing this as a hardware test.
The install is no more difficult than installing Windows 7. Follow the prompts.

Thanks, sorry I didn't notice, I thought it was one of those ads that hyperlinks Google/Yahoo results. I downloaded the linuxmint-15-cinnamon....iso and I finished downloading it and I'm trying to burn it to a disc and it says "the selected disc image isn't valid!" Please help....

Sorry to have two posts in a row, but I found out something quite interesting. I have slow Internet so it takes me about an hour to download Linux. So in the mean time I went to my other PC and took the HDD I plan on putting my OS on and plugged it into that PC and started to install. I was able to do the complete installation and everything just fine, I took it back to my gaming computer and I get the same error as before (\windows\system32\config\system Status: 0xc0000001 Info: Windows failed to load because the system registry file is missing, or corrupt.)
Why is this?

Okay, sorry I posted this for the third time in a row, but I saw a post on Tomshardware and it was saying that it could be a problem with the RAM so I have four sticks of RAM and I took two out and put the other two in the correct places and it the installation went through with flying colors!
