can i find a graphics card that will play latest games ( 2014 & further ) under 148 $ ?

Solution
Best choices in that budget are a AMD 7850 2GB or a GTX 650 ti boost 2GB. Make sure you get 2GB versions. Try to get overclocked versions as well.

It will play the latest games, but some of the toughest latest games it will be on Medium to High settings instead of High to Very High settings.

If you want to future proof for a couple years, you're going to have to spend $175-200 at a minimum.

Go for a AMD 7850, its a little bit better than a 650 ti. Mine plays most games on very high settings just fine. The lowest in settings i have had to go so far is High, one down from ultra. That was with some at ultra still too.

If you can catch it with a MIR you maybe can get it right at around $150. I got mine in May for a final cost of $144.
If you do not want to wait for a good sell, go for the AMD 7790, its worse than the 7850 but only a little. It can still play plenty of things on high. I've seen them as low as $120

It probably can. I don't play the game so not sure, but I would be surprised if it cannot.

Here are the cheapest ones.

I actually have the PowerColor one. The other only has 1GB RAM but it is way cheaper after rebate. the RAM is mostly important if you play at high resolutions so pick which you think you need.

The short answer is without a mail in rebate the cheapest you can find either of those in the US at major retailers today is about $160:

Here's a powercolor 7850 for $164 - http://pcpartpicker.com/part/powercolor-video-card-ax78502gbd5dh

I'd chip in another $10 and get the asus 650 ti boost personally for $178 with $10 MIR. http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-video-card-gtx650tibdc2oc2gd5boost

Or this EVGA superclocked for $168 with $10 MIR - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130910&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

The 650 Ti boost 2gb outperforms the 7850 but barely:

Here is a link to a promo that has a 7870 for $165 after rebate.

http://promotions.newegg.com/NEemail/July-0-2013/allornothing26/index-landing.html?nm_mc=EMC-IGNEFL072613&cm_mmc=EMC-IGNEFL072613-_-EMC-072613-Index-_-E0-_-MorePer#Per

You have sign up to be an email subscriber for the promo code to work - hopefully it would still let you use the promo code as this isn't the latest email deal out. But this is a great deal on this card. I've seen this every once in a while over the last couple of months.

I gotta agree here with this deal: If you can swing the MIR this will be better than pretty much anything at this price point.

I also agree. This would be by far the best choice gone over so far. Just borrow the extra $$ from someone if you cannot come up with it and pay them back once the rebate comes in.

Btw after you get it, you may want to start another thread about overclocking if you don't know how to. With AMD Overdrive, its really simple and easy to do, and gives the card a nice boost.
