the vram only helps if your game utilizes more vram than the gpu has to offer. When it comes to Bus Size/Memory clocks ratio, these can only be tweaked hardware wise if working on memory bus size, and software working with memory clock wise. size of memory doesnt really affect how much data can be transferred

So the 4GB VRAM wont increase fps in 2560x1440 gaming? Or will it?

it won't "increase" your fps, but rather decrease stuttering in extremely high vram situations, not to mention being more future proof.

when it comes to games like crysis where its due to heavy anti-aliasing, more vram doesnt help. it will only help if you for instance mod your games alot and its taking alot of vram. other than that, its more on memory bus size and memory clock speed(why the 770 scores better than the 680 is due to better vram and more aggressive clocking)

I am having the same issue rite now. It seems that a single 770 is not enough. Unless you turn of MSA. I have been looking at the 770 4gb my self. I like the gtx 780 but i fear ill have the same problem as i do with my gtx 680 not having enought V Ram. Rite now with 2gb of vram i max the vram out when playing battlefield 3 on my 1440p monitor. If i had got the 680 4gb i would just buy anther. But now i am stuck in a wierd spot. The Titan is to much the 780 only has 3gb of v ram. And a single 770 is not quit cutting it for me. I was thinking about going SLI 760 4gb. for 300 dollars a pop. But then i run out of sli room in the future. The sli 760 would give you more fps then the titan tho. So its allot to think about

Well consider that 1080p already uses about 2 GB in intense games, the extra 2GB will have a benefit in 1440p.

at 1440p crysis 3 can use close to 3gb vram. So if you had a 2gb card, that memory spills over into slower system ram, decreasing FPS and increasing stuttering as the card has to wait for that information to be transferred from system ram across the pcie bus back to the gpu. When you fill up vram performance can take a very severe hit. If your running 1440p res, 3gb or more would be recommended. And also think for future, the new consoles will be packing 8gb ram, so expect future games to have very high res textures and draw distance, the two biggest vram killers beside screen resolution.

Thats why i dont want to get the 780. I feel like its not enought vram for the future. So i am stuck between getting the 1 770 4g add anther later or 1 titan

Yes, the extra VRAM will help. No you will not have a problem with 3GB on the GTX 780. But there is a problem...

This chart is for the current "worst-case scenario" Crysis 3 at high resolutions (disregarding Skyrim with mods). The problem is that you cannot run the game with the high AA levels necessary to use up that amount of memory. The review shows the game running at 30 FPS with FXAA on and MSAA turned off on high-end cards. So you can say a game like Crysis 3 will eat up VRAM, but you wouldn't be able to play it using those settings anyway.

What you think about sli 760. That should = 1 690.

Thanks everyone for your answers, but I've decided to stay on my GTX 770 4GB since I can't afford anything more than that, anyway :)
