Bottle necking my GPU?

So, I'm looking into getting a GTX 760 in the coming days. Now, currently I have a AMD FX-6300 CPU in my computer. It's meant for gaming, recording and rendering (Fraps and such.) I was just wondering if my CPU would bottle neck the new GPU at all? In terms of gameplay, I guess I mean. I'm aware it's not the best CPU, and it's no Intel, but it's worked so far.

Solution

If you need to ask in what game then its NOT a bottleneck, a bottleneck would apply to a graphically intense games just as much as CPU intense.

Any OP, No, there will be no bottleneck.

@expl0itfinder I'm not too familiar with overclocking, so, I've been a bit hesitant to try it honestly.

@cuecuemore I'd say the newer ones coming out. I still play lots of the games out now, though. Like Sleeping Dogs, Crysis 3, GTA 4, Borderlands 2 and others of the such.

Ok, bunch of nonsense in this thread (as usual). The only game I have experience with from the ones you listed is GTA 4, and it could bottleneck, not because the 6300 is a bad CPU, but because GTA 4 is a horribly optimized game on PC.

I've heard it was, and experienced that. Sadly. I enjoy it, but the lag or hiccups I get is kinda annoying.

Let me explain this to you.

1. What is a bottleneck?
A bottleneck applies to a CPU not being fast enough to tell a GPU what to do.
That means the CPU is holding the GPU back.

2. In the case of a CPU intense game its not a case of the GPU being help back but an INADEQUATE CPU speed, this is not a GPU bottleneck, but a bottleneck in THAT game.

Does this make sense to you?

Keep in mind the OP is asking about an inherit HARDWARD, not a specific game bottleneck.
