System Usage from Most to Least Important: gaming, movies, surfing the web

Parts Not Required: keyboard, mouse, monitor

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: any web

Parts Preferences: the graphics card must have an hdmi output.

Overclocking: possibly, if necessary

SLI or Crossfire: not necessary

Monitor Resolution: 1280 x 720 or 1920 x 1080

Additional Comments: 4gb+ ram needed. id like to be able to run newer games (ex : crysis 3, skyfall, tera online) at mid-high quality if possible. this is my first time building a custom pc. the ultimate goal is to build a decent machine that i can still upgrade to not a high end pc, but great pc.

Thank's

Well, fortunately u'r in the US, that's more important.

There are wars between AMD FX-8350 and i5-3570K/4670K (Still i7-3770/4770K outperformed 8-core FX-8350 in most cases.)But there is a trend that future gen games will use more cores and threads and AMD FX-8320/8350 are the most budget CPUs which has 8 cores and 8 threads and OC potential, so for budget gaming CPUs FX- CPU are still the better option.

But if u still now to GPU intensive games like Crysis 2 or COD series, i5-3xxx/4xxx non-K CPU is a good option. To be futureproof, u may need a i5-3xxxK/4xxxK or i7-3/4xxxK to gain overclockability and i7 is for more threads (but it'll cost some $100-300 more than AMD solution) If for CPU intensive games, FX-8350 is a good budget but...

OK here is the futureproof one. Note that GTX 770 has taken the place of GTX 680 now.
