Hi everyone, I'm new to this website so sorry If I don't post this correctly. Anyways, My birthday is coming up and I need to upgrade my computer to play more and better games. My desktop is prebuilt but hope to get help upgrading.
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Gateway+-+Desktop+-+8GB+Memory+-+1TB+Hard+Drive/6835451.p?id=1218808631512&skuId=6835451 - It is Windows 7. Right now the only game I actually bother to run is Counter strike / Garrysmod. I'd like to play games like DayZ, Blackops 2, and battlefield 3. Most people like to play on ultra but I'd be fine with Medium/High settings. My budget is $250 Will go up to $315. If there are more parts I need in order for my PC to perform at it's greatest please tell me. Thanks ahead of time

summary :

Forget about the first post , go with the second one since it's much cheaper and ....
the GTX 760 is better than the HD 7870 but not worth the Extra ~ 100$
it's not a lot better than the HD 7870 , both has great performance in gaming .

as i said , go with the second one since it's - Cheape , Good Performance .

btw the HD 7870 prices are more than ~ 200 $ , that one i posted is an offer price . ( $166 is amazing for an HD 7870 )

this is more than enough to run the games you listed , it's awesome Future proof , you can even play battlefield 4 on ultra with this upgrade .

Will I need anything else like another fan or something. I don't know much about computers and I don't want my computer to blow up or anything. Also, Is there anything cheaper power supply wise that will work?

No , you don't !! that's enough !!

am running my system which is supposed to go higher temps than you'r on a stupid case with no fans on it , and my temps are all under 60 C which is very safe and cool , for that Graphic card , even 70 C is safe for it , but i don't think that it would get higher than 60-70 .

you should be find with that upgrade , but FIRST !! make sure that case have enough space for the GTX 760 ( 260mm length at least )

am playing battlefield 3 with the same GPU ( HD 7870 ) with more than 75 FPS on Ultra settings 1920 x 1080

if you are looking for best value upgrade , go with this , it's better for Price/Performance .
