I have an old early 2008 MacBook Pro that I want to just have it sit in my bedroom and be able to access file from it from anywhere. I would like to me able to access the media from if using Plex on my new MBP, iPhone, Android, and iPad. I have an 500GB external HD to have more storage space. What's the best and decently inexpensive (say under $100) to do this. I want to eventually build a dedicated media server, but that's gonna have to wait until I'm out of college.
