As the title may hint, I have a couple of questions regard graphics, GPU's and games.
I'm looking at building a rig in the near future, haven't quite decided as I'm unsure what I may or may not need.
I play a large variation of games, some demanding (Far Cry 3, Skyrim (modded), BF3) and others, well, I guess they can be considered demanding, at least from experience (Minecraft, Cubeworld)
I've been eying up 4gb graphics cards for quite awhile, and when the Titan came into field, I became interested in 5 and 6gb cards (I hear the "new" titan LE will have 5gb Vram, still no signs of it) and with the undeniable fact that modern games are using an increasing amount of Vram, I've decided I'd like to invest in graphic cards that can handle current games, and games in the future (== 3 years)
I game at 1920x1080 and 5760x1080 @120hz, and the upcoming build will be built around the Core i7 4930K (Ivy Bridge E), Asus ROG series board and 16gb memory.
The questions I have are still bothering me and I would love a couple of fresh opinions.
The first being: What graphics card would suffice for my gaming needs. Keep in mind I play skyrim heavily modded (well, I'd like to, I usually mod it moderately (100 + mods) on High/Ultra settings with my 6870 without AA). This thing pushes well beyond 3gb Vram and I'd really like to be able to play this game on Ultra at around 55-60FPS (as the game has problems @120hz) while running 150-250 mods (around 60 being Texture modes, ENB, 2k-8k textures, etc)
I enjoy gaming at the highest settings @ highest possible FPS (120 looks amazing in games) I'm thinking the GTX780, but I haven't seen any news on 6gb models coming, and the Titan is extremely expensive. I'm not fond of AMD also, so nVIDIA is #1 choice.
Next question is related to the first: As I mentioned, I play skyrim without AA, and although I can probably test the theory myself, I'm wondering is it worth using Anti Aliasing. I mean, which settings do you find are most important in games for eye candy. I haven't used 3 screens yet, as I currently don't have an active display port (They're expensive here, almost $75) but I've been told AA isn't needed in surround. What do you guys thinks are the best/most important/most useful graphic settings and which aren't needed?
I had another question in mind, but I totally forgot what it was. If I remember, I'll be sure to post it.
Anyway, I hope you can help me out
