I have a Radeon HD 6870 that artifacts all over the place with some games, less with other games. I've been ignoring it for the last year and a half since it started, but Quakecon is coming up this weekend and I want to replace it with something that isn't crappy.
Is there anything that is in the $150 to $200 range that's any better than the Radeon HD 6870? I was looking at the EVGA GeForce GTX650 Ti, but it appears that it's not actually any better than my current card, despite being newer.
Are there any notable features that the 6870 lacks (direct X support for version X, fancier shaders, etc) that a more current video card would support?
Generally speaking, I don't plan on using another video card (crossfire support isn't a priority) and while a plethora of outputs is nice, I only honestly use the DVI-D ports.
