Gigabyte Windforce 3x GeForce GTX 780 dual SLI second card heat?

So I am planning on buying a single Gigabyte Windforce 3x GeForce GTX 780 and later buying another one for dual SLI. My concern is that because of the 3 fans on the cooler, the top card will be dumping all the heat onto to second card and the second card will have signifigantly higher temps. And, with nVidia GPU Boost 2.0 (I think that's what it's called), nVidia's cards run better at lower temps. So I am concerned that the top card will be running at max while the second card is struggling behind.

Could this be true? Anyone out there have dual Gigabyte 780s? If so how do they perform and what are their temps under load and idleing?

If this is true, what 780s would you recommend for a SLI config? I am heavily considering the ASUS GeForce GTX 780 DirectCU II or the EVGA GeForce GTX 780 ACX. I just havn't made up my mind yet. I have seen mixed results with benchmarks on review sites that put all three, each site a different card, as their top choice.

Also, I've seen the vast majority of people recommend the EVGA brand cards, why is that? Some cards out there are maybe cheaper, have better cooling solutions, have better specs and most have the same warranty. I don't get it. Is it the name, warranty, performance, longevity, RMA reviews, customer service reviews, etc.? What makes many people flock to the EVGA cards rather than to other brands?

All opinions, suggestions, and help is appreciated, I look forward to seeing everyone's replies. Thanks!

As far as heat goes I have a Gigabyte GTX 670 SLI(Winforce2) setup and have not had any problems with heat. I am sure the GTX 780 might get some what hotter but from what I can tell the fan setup on the Gigabyte Winforce coolers are really good.

One thing to think about if you are gaming on just a single 1080p monitor you would not need to SLI at all with that card. Unless you are going to game at a higher resolution than 1080p or in a Surround setup the second GTX 780 will not be of much use at all. Just food for thought.

On my i5 3570K system I have a SLI GTX 670 setup and even though it is slower than a GTX 780 at 1080p I can play any game 1080p ultra/max on a single card with no problems what so ever. At that resolution each card in my SLI gets about 50% utilization.

I do plan to buy another monitor later on but not with my build right now. I'm getting the 780 just to try to futureproof my pc a little. I'm sure your 670s run games fine now, but I'm looking forward to the games comming out in the latter part of 2013, early 2014 and so on. Thanks for the suggestions though, much appreciated.

Would you have any case recommendations? My case budget is around $150, I am probably going with the Cooler master Scout 2. I would really love to have a case with a side window btw.

Would you mind linking the A140? I couldn't seem to find it.

Thanks for the correction, I'll look into that case. Do you have any thoughts on why many people always go to EVGA for their cards? I see you went with dual EVGA 780s. How do they perform? Do they stand up to some of the benchmarks on review sites? And, why didn't you go for a different brand?
