Hello. I have just bought a corsair 600w 'bronze' psu to go with a new gigabyte ga-z77-d3h motherboard. I notice there are two power connectors on both the motherboard and the psu which are 8 pin (2x4pin) and 24 pin; my question is: is it alright to connect both at the same time?
I know it might seem a simple question, but I don't want to damage my new bits!
Apologies if I have missed out vital info...this is my first posting...ever.
Thanks in anticipation

You must have both! The 4x2 pin is strickly for CPU power. Some lower power CPU's will only need one of the 2, 4 pin connectors, but if your MB has a 8 pin connector, use the (2x4) 8 pin connection. Your CPU will only draw as much power as it needs. Here is a link that goes over problems when first setting up a system. Even though you aren't really experiencing any problems, it may help you feel confident you have covered all the bases! Have Fun!

IN the first picture there is a red "NOT"circle around the 24 pin connector. Ignore this, you definitely need the 24 pin also, they are only trying to get your attention to the often overlooked...
