I have this exact card (non boost) and with the help of my FX8 and 16gb ram i can preety max out every game so far, and im preety sure its future proof.
Its got two fans, and can be a a bit noisy but if you have GPU-Z wich allows you to control fan speed you can optimize it to run slower when non gaming so it's not as loud
Well if you are going to play on 1920x1080 resolution or lower I would recommend the 1gb version of the 7850. I've seen some cases where it actually outperforms the 2gb card on that resolution. That, and it saves you about $20.
Now, all cards with the same amount of VRAM (I stronlgy suggest the 2GB version though cause a lot of games including Skyrim needs more than 1200MB VRAM when you apply High Ress textures at 1920x1080), perform similar so its in your choice what side (AMD or Nvidia) do you prefer .
