Radeon 7850. You can even get the Sapphire 7850 for $145 on newegg. Or the 2gb if you're into that kinda stuff

Well you could go for a gtx 650 but I would recommend the 7850 because it's the same price and alot faster.

I think those 2 cards are the best ones you can get from both manufacters for that price

I have this exact card (non boost) and with the help of my FX8 and 16gb ram i can preety max out every game so far, and im preety sure its future proof.
Its got two fans, and can be a a bit noisy but if you have GPU-Z wich allows you to control fan speed you can optimize it to run slower when non gaming so it's not as loud

Well if you are going to play on 1920x1080 resolution or lower I would recommend the 1gb version of the 7850. I've seen some cases where it actually outperforms the 2gb card on that resolution. That, and it saves you about $20.

The 7850 runs skyrim on a perfect 60fps on ultra settings. Hope that's some kinda of reference for you.

Near $175 with 2GB:
AMD: PowerColor AX7850 2GBD5-DH Radeon HD 7850 2GB $159.99
Nvidia: EVGA 02G-P4-3658-KR GeForce GTX 650 Ti BOOST SuperClocked 2GB $164.99

Now, all cards with the same amount of VRAM (I stronlgy suggest the 2GB version though cause a lot of games including Skyrim needs more than 1200MB VRAM when you apply High Ress textures at 1920x1080), perform similar so its in your choice what side (AMD or Nvidia) do you prefer
