Hi friends,

I have recently purchased an ultrabook sony vaio duo 13 with the i7 Gen 4. 4500u processor. Strangely it shows the max clock speed to be 2.39 Ghz but I had read before purchasing that the max speed is upto 3.0 Ghz.

It will be very helpful to know this.
Thanks in advance,

Note the 'Up to". That means that it will only run at that speed with lots of thermal headroom and only one core being used.

Oh! thanks for your answer. Of what I understand both cores ideally could run at 2.7 togeather.

Of what I understand from your answer is that it can ideally reach 3.0 Ghz and I should keep the ultrabook in a more open area or a cooler room in order to peak its performance? Is this true?

Sort of. Keeping it clear of dust also helps, and propping the back up so the underside gets more airflow.
