Whats bottlenecking my build??????

Hello i have just build this destkop and im geting alot of lag and microstutter in games while it is an high end destkop
my specs are:
16gb dd3 ram 4x4gb
Amd fx 4100 overclocked processor
MSI 970A-G46 motherboard
2048MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 (factory overclocked)
an ASUS VN247 (1920x1080@60Hz)
1x2therabyte caviar green from western digital
1xintel solidstade drive 120gb 330 series
1xTSSTcorp CDDVDW SH-S223C ATA Device
1x tv tuner i only dont know what model or brand
sharkoon 600watt powersuply
and the aerocool cyborgx case
windows 7 64bit sp1

I Would greatly appreciate it if somewone nows a solution to help me out;-)

Oh... I wouldn't call it highend bro. Sorry, no offense. Your FX4100 and GPU 660 won't run well if you have an extreme settings for games.

it should run reasonably fine. try resetting cmos. play games. how is it?.............. if it runs fine you can then go into the BIOS and set the ram to run at 1600.

Yeah i'd try lowering the game settings a bit and see if that helps. No your CPU shouldn't be bottlenecking it. Your game settings are probably just too high for what either can really handle.

i dunno it happens even with very old games like ac II or runescape wich my old build (lot less powerfull) used to play without any micro stutter or lag

Components have no way of knowing how much power your PSU can deliver and no way to scale back performance based on that.

The most common reason for mysterious performance degradation is overheating. You might want to check your CPU and GPU temperatures.

if i would buy an 8core will i have more fps in games?
what should i do if resseting the cmos doesnt work?
im still looking for a good 24inch gaming screen i have an ASUS VN247H and the colours look like crap tbh any suggestions?? (under 200euro)

Try updating the gpu drivers to the latest version and then post the results.
